What is My Free Telecom?My Free Telecom is a flat rate long distance telephone service within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you can call as many times as you want, and talk as long as you wish. Is this service free?For almost 10 years, My Free Telecom was available for free to all callers and paid by advertising sponsors. In April 2009, we removed the ads and My Free Telecom is currently available only on a subscription basis. How much does it cost?The subscription to My Free Telecom is only $2.95 per 30 days of service. HST tax apply to the subscription fee. Do I have to register for this service?Yes, in order to use My Free Telecom you need to register your phone line with us. How do I register for this service?First, you need to choose the desired number of service days (30 days, 60 days, 90 days, etc.), calculate the total payment amount (including taxes) and print the bill. This can be done using the subscription calculator on our web site. Then, you need to choose a payment option and send your payment to us. You can also sign-up for preauthorized monthly or quarterly payment plan. How long does it take to activate the subscription after I send a payment?For payments by Visa or MasterCard over the phone, the subscription to My Free Telecom will be activated on the same day. For payments by bank teller services, bank automated machines, or bank Internet or telephone banking, the subscription will be activated as soon as we receive the payment from the bank, which is usually on the next business day. For payments by cheque, the subscription will be activated as soon as we receive your cheque by mail. How do I call using this service?My Free Telecom service is easy to use. A touch tone phone is required. Every time you want to make a call, dial our access number: 416-255-5800 and follow the simple instructions to enter the telephone number you want to call. Is Customer Service available?Customer Service is available by pressing 0 on the main menu. You can also contact us by e-mail, fax or mail. Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. You can also leave a message when calling after business hours, and we will call you back at the earliest possible time. I have to call your access number: 416-255-5800 as a long distance number. Is this service still available to me?No. If you have to call our access number as a long distance number (with 1 in front of the number), you are not within our service area. Our service is not available to you, because you will be billed by your regular long distance service telephone company for calls placed to our access number. Every time you dial 1 in front of any telephone number, you will be billed for those calls. Can I use it for business calls?Yes, My Free Telecom service is available for residential and business calls, but not for telemarketing. Can I use it for faxing?Yes, as long as you manually dial from your fax machine. My Free Telecom service is not suitable for faxing using computer fax programs. Do you have any tips on how to use this service?- Our switch access number: 416-255-5800 is easy to remember. Please
notice that the last 7 digits of this number are located vertically,
in one line, from the top to bottom, on your telephone keypad. This
